611 Supreme is a crepe restaurant. I shared three different crepes: one filled with a variety of sauteed mushrooms and shallots, and covered with a mushroom cream sauce; one with spinach, tomatoes, and gruyere, and one for dessert with nutella, sliced bananas and vanilla ice cream. It sounds kind of heavy but the portions were just right to share as a dinner for 2.
This is a small bistro type restaurant, kind of dark red and brown inside, probably a good wine selection if you care about good wine. Nice bar, and we showed up early this time and decided to be served at the bar. I have to mention the bartender who served us. The server who was supposed to work at that time showed up late, so the bartender filled in and he was great. It’s great for the restaurant experience to have a server who shows up at the right time, leaves you alone at the right time, makes you feel comfortable, and you never feel like you’re waiting for someone to come. It seems to happen by random chance but when it does, you leave with a good feeling.
Anyway, I love the crepes. When you want a good savory crepe, you go here. There was also a place in the Pike Place Market that makes good crepes, but I can’t remember the name. If I go back to find it, maybe I’ll mention it here. The spinach and tomato crepe was very fresh tasting, nicely cooked and the flavors meshed well.
I think now is the time for mushrooms. It is starting. Anyplace you can get them, do it. They were delicious and the sauce was a bit tangy but still creamy. I love “earthy” foods. Mushrooms, cheeses, beers. I am suddenly craving morels, truffles, stinky brie and Guinness….
